What was the Critical Period?
The Critical Period was the time after the Revolutionary War when the America had gained their independence from Britain. At this point, a new government called the Articles of Confederation was created. With the beginnings of this new country, many foreign and economic problems were occurring. This was a time in which the country was finding its balance. These years would affect the future of what is now know as the United States of America.
When was the Critical Period?
This period refers to the time of 1783-1789. It begins with the end of the American Revolution and creation of the Articles of Confederation. It is said to end with the inauguration of President George Washington.
